From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the transformative power of clothing, and I’ve dedicated my career to bringing creative visions to life. Whether it’s crafting theatrical costumes or designing bespoke garments that celebrate individuality, I thrive on the challenge of turning ideas into wearable art. As a Pattern Maker Educator, I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and inspiring the next generation of pattern makers. Through hands-on instruction in digital pattern drafting and traditional techniques, I aim to empower my students to chase their dreams fearlessly. My favorite part about being a Digital Pattern Maker is the process after seeing the initial design. This is a time to explore different options and ideas of how to bring the initial designs to completion. During the creation process different applications can inspire a change to the initial design. My second favorite part is seeing the final product in three-dimensional form. Seeing how the final project directly resembles the initial design and sometimes where you were inspired to change and alter the design. I find the process of creating to be a place of imagination because ideas spark from everywhere. Mistakes and missteps can even help change a project for the better and inspire a different or new vision. The creative process can either maintain or change the initial design but no matter what, the creative process transforms initial designs into beautiful dreams.
